Everton deny Fellaini transfer fee rumours

Everton have denied reports that Marouane Fellaini helped to fund his own move Manchester United on deadline day.

It was recently claimed that the Belgian international midfielder forfeited £4m in loyalty bonuses in order to complete a £27.5m switch to the Premier League champions.

Everton director of communications Alan Myers tweeted: "For those asking: [Fellaini] did NOT pay £4m of the transfer fee! The buying club will pay £27.5m."

The length of Fellaini's new contract at Old Trafford is yet to be disclosed.
