Everton lose 1-0 to Valencia in their final game of the International Champions Cup in Miami.

Everton have lost their final game of the International Champions Cup, going down 1-0 to Valencia at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami.

Toffees boss Roberto Martinez handed starts to Gerard Deulofeu and Ross Barkley, with Victor Anichebe starting up front against the Spanish outfit.

With little to play for, the game was played at a pedestrian pace - although Los Che were the side in control as the Blues sat back.

It was former Spanish Under-21 midfielder Michel who scored the only goal of the game, catching Joel Robles unaware with a swift shot from the edge of the area in the 52nd minute.

Nikica Jelavic, Seamus Coleman, Leighton Baines and Kevin Mirallas all saw action in the first half, but the Blues could not find a route back into the game.

Despite making the semi-finals, a blunder in the scheduling means that they finish sixth in the competition - behind AC Milan, who lost to Valencia in their opening game.
