Bryan Oviedo eager to make full use of fresh start

Everton's Bryan Oviedo admits that it feels like he has been given a fresh start after recently returning from a broken leg.

Bryan Oviedo has revealed that he is treating his return from injury as a fresh start as he looks to find his best form with Everton.

The 1-1 draw with West Ham United in the FA Cup saw Oviedo complete 90 minutes for just the second time since he broke his leg in two places almost a year ago, and he admits that it is a relief to feel fully fit again.

"I take it as though I am starting again," the Costa Rican told reporters. "I think the most important thing is to have the right mentality, never get down and always want to help the team.

"I waited a long time for my opportunity and it is almost 12 months now. I am happy to come back and help the team and I hope to continue to play and progress.

"For me the most difficult time was the last two months because you feel well but one day you are training well and the next day you feel very bad with too much pain - this happens with an injury like that. The most important thing is to be ready and I am very happy."

Oviedo could be forced to remain patient as he looks for more chances after Roberto Martinez revealed that Leighton Baines is likely to return from injury this weekend.
