Romelu Lukaku thrilled with Duncan Ferguson impact

Everton hitman Romelu Lukaku hails the impact that former Toffees striker Duncan Ferguson has had on him since joining Roberto Martinez's coaching staff.

Everton striker Romelu Lukaku has claimed that he is reaping the benefits of learning from club legend-turned-Toffees coach Duncan Ferguson.

The Belgian struck in tonight's 1-1 draw at home to Hull City for what was his seventh goal of the season in all competitions.

The goal evoked memories of Ferguson - who scored 67 times in two spells as a Blues player - in his time at Goodison Park, and Lukaku says that the Scot is "very important" to his form.

"He's very important," he told reporters. "Not only him but the whole staff. I work with them on special aspects of my game and I'm getting back to my best."

Ferguson joined Roberto Martinez's coaching staff in February this year after spending three years working with the club's youth teams.

Sone Aluko later cancelled out Lukaku's effort to salvage a point for Steve Bruce's men on Merseyside.
