John Heitinga: "Best season of my career"

Everton defender John Heitinga has said that he is currently enjoying the best season of his career so far.

The Dutch defender, who joined the club from Spanish outfit Atletico Madrid prior to the 2009-10 campaign, has made a total of 23 appearances for the Toffees this season and bagged one goal.

"This is the best season of my career," he said.

"I'm in great shape, the team is performing well, and I feel the people at Everton value and trust me a great deal.

"We're now due to face Liverpool in the FA Cup. It will be an amazing experience."

Heitinga began his career with Ajax in the Eredivisie before signing with Atletico in 2008.
