Everton midfielder Ross Barkley has admitted that this season has been a learning curve for him following his debut campaign when he made headlines for his impressive form.
The Merseyside outfit have struggled in the Premier League this time around and they currently reside 14th in the table, just six points above the relegation zone.
The results have been few and far between, and Barkley believes that he personally needs to change his game in order to make it difficult for opponents to play against him.
"It has been a tough season for me," The Express quotes Barkley as saying. "Every game is different and, because last season was my first full season in the Premier League, then maybe no one really knew about me.
"Maybe this season opponents know part of my game and it is up to me to learn and adapt to that. If people think they know what I am going to do I have to come up with something different and have other options."
The Toffees will switch their attention back to the Europa League on Thursday when they battle for a place in the quarter-finals against Dynamo Kiev, whom they have a 2-1 lead over from the first leg of their last-16 clash.
