Everton's on-loan winger Gerard Deulofeu will be out for two months with a hamstring injury, his parent club Barcelona have confirmed.
Deulofeu was stretchered off in the 4-1 win against Fulham last weekend and despite initial estimates from Everton as "a few weeks", the La Liga side have confirmed that it is worse than first thought.
"Gerard Deulofeu, who is on loan at Everton this season, will recover from injury in Barcelona in co-ordination with the medical services of the English club," the club said in a statement.
"The player has this afternoon undergone testing by the medical services of Barcelona and they have confirmed the biceps femoris muscle injury in his right leg.
"The prognosis is approximately six to eight weeks. The recovery will be in Barcelona in conjunction with the medical services of Everton."
Everton take on Swansea City on Sunday.
