Half-Time Report: Everton ahead against Southampton

Everton are leading Southampton 1-0 in their Premier League match at Goodison Park this afternoon.

Seamus Coleman fired Everton into an early lead, when cut inside from the right, before bursting into the box and hitting a powerful strike into the top corner beyond Kelvin Davis.

Luke Shaw worked a good opening for himself, but could only place his effort from just outside the box wide of the goal.

As the game approached half time, Adam Lallana had a good chance to equalise, but after weaving his way into the box, he fired an effort past the post.
