David Moyes has again reiterated his desire to lead Everton into the Champions League this season.
The Toffees take on top four rivals Chelsea this afternoon, and a win would see them leapfrog the London club.
Moyes said that he wants to "make the next step on the ladder", with the added money and player interest that Champions League football would bring.
"If you go back to last January, we needed five and a bit million [on Nikica Jelavic] to turn it around. I would hope that if we made the Champions League we would be getting far more than that," Moyes told the Daily Star.
"There's quite a big pay cheque coming for all Premier League clubs next year from TV. The Champions League money could escalate too. It could change a lot of what happens here.
"The year we qualified in 2005, I couldn't believe the people who phoned me and said: 'We would like to join Everton.' They were top players who want European football, they all do."
Moyes also went on to say Everton would have a better chance of keeping their star players should they qualify for the Champions League.
