UEFA are reportedly poised to announce that future Europa League winners will automatically qualify for the following Champions League campaign.
The current rules state that teams who finish in the allocated places in their respective leagues are awarded a place in the elite European competition.
However, UEFA have decided that from the 2015-16 season, teams who win the Europa League will qualify for the top tier of European football regardless of where they place in the table, according to BBC Sport.
Premier League outfit Chelsea were crowned champions over Benfica in this season's tournament.
