Bursaspor excluded from Europa League after failing to overturn UEFA ban

Bursaspor excluded from Europa League

Turkish club Bursaspor are not permitted to compete in the Europa League after the Court of Arbitration for Sport upheld a year-long UEFA ban.

Bursaspor, who recently finished sixth in the Super Lig, were punished by the European governing body in 2012 for breaching financial fair play rules.

The club lodged an appeal to sport's highest court, but according to The AP, the suspension, which was deferred for a three-year probationary period, was not overturned.

In December last year, the club were found guilty of breaking FFP rules again.
