Team News: England make five changes for Germany clash

England make five changes for Germany clash

England manager Gareth Southgate has made a total of five changes for Wednesday's UEFA Nations League contest with Germany in Munich.

The Three Lions are aiming to bounce back from their opening 1-0 defeat to Hungary at the Allianz Arena and are without no fewer than three players for the showdown.

James Justin misses out after coming off injured on his debut, while Fikayo Tomori and the COVID-positive Phil Foden are not ready to return yet either.

Jordan Pickford, Kyle Walker and Harry Maguire all hold their places at the back, where John Stones takes the place of Conor Coady.

Justin's absence unsurprisingly sees Bukayo Saka recalled to the side as a left wing-back, while Trent Alexander-Arnold drops out for Kieran Trippier on the opposite side.

Jude Bellingham has also been demoted to the bench as Kalvin Phillips comes in to partner Declan Rice in the engine room, but Mason Mount holds his spot.

Harry Kane will aim to break the 50-goal mark for England at the Allianz Arena, and he will be supported by Raheem Sterling, who takes the place of Jarrod Bowen.

England starting lineup: Pickford; Walker, Stones, Maguire; Trippier, Rice, Phillips, Saka; Mount, Kane, Sterling

Subs: Pope, Ramsdale, James, Alexander-Arnold, Guehi, Coady, Ward-Prowse, Gallagher, Bellingham, Bowen, Grealish, Abraham

Germany starting lineup: Neuer; Klostermann, Schlotterbeck, Rudiger, Raum; Kimmich, Gundogan; Hofmann, Muller, Musiala; Havertz
