Team News: Wayne Rooney starts for England against Scotland

Wayne Rooney is chosen to start for England against Scotland in tonight's friendly at Wembley.

Wayne Rooney has been chosen to start for England in this evening's international friendly against Scotland at Wembley.

The Manchester United striker's fitness has been in question but manager Roy Hodgson has given him the nod for tonight's highly-anticipated clash.

Rooney's United teammates Danny Welbeck and Tom Cleverley also make the starting XI, with Leighton Baines of Everton keeping out Chelsea's Ashley Cole at left-back.

For the visiting Scots, Kenny Miller is chosen ahead of Jordan Rhodes and Leigh Griffiths in attack.

Tonight's match is the first time in 14 years that the two British neighbours have met.

England: Hart; Walker, Cahill, Jagielka, Baines; Gerrard, Wilshere, Cleverley; Walcott, Welbeck, Rooney

Scotland: McGregor; Hutton, Hanley, Martin, Whittaker; Snodgrass, Morrison, Brown; Forrest, Maloney; Miller
