Iraq score in the last minute to seal a 2-2 draw with England in their opening game of the Under-20 World Cup.

A last-gasp strike from Ali Jamil Adnan has seen Iraq hold England to a 2-2 draw in their opening game of the Under-20 World Cup in Turkey.

Conor Coady and Luke Williams had struck either side of the break to give Peter Taylor's side the lead, but Ali Faez's penalty made things interesting with just over 15 minutes left to play.

The Three Lions had the better of the first-half opportunities, although the opposition looked dangerous in spells.

It took 40 minutes to break Iraq's defence, as Adam Ward-Prowse delivered for Coady to bury a header past Mohammed Hameed.

Iraq took the second half by the scruff of the neck but slipped further behind in the 54th minute when Williams profited off the good work of Harry Kane.

Goalkeeper Sam Johnstone brought down Mohanad Abdulraheem inside the area in the 73rd minute, which gave Faez the chance to reduce the deficit to one, which he did by dispatching into the side of the net.

England then had a few chances to put the game to bed, with Chris Long and Kane going close once again, but were left stunned when Adnan smashed past Johnstone to rescue a point in injury time.
