Alan Shearer: 'England game sent me to sleep'

Former England striker Alan Shearer admits that he fell asleep during the Three Lions' 1-0 friendly win against Norway last Wednesday.

Former England striker Alan Shearer has admitted that he fell asleep during the Three Lions' friendly clash against Norway last week.

The game, which finished 1-0 thanks to a Wayne Rooney penalty in the second half, saw Hodgson come under scrutiny for the team's tactics and lack of shots on target.

Shearer wrote in The Sun: "I have to admit I did doze off in front of the game.

"Those who did go probably wish they hadn't."

England, who finished bottom of their group in the World Cup, kick off their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign this evening against Switzerland.
