England keeper Joe Hart has revealed that should Sunday's quarter-final with Italy go to penalties, he would step up and take one.
The Manchester City number one gave an in-depth press conference today and spoke of his team's progress so far.
"It's obviously a great achievement [getting to the quarter-finals]. It's something that we set out to do at the start of the tournament. We did well against France and then [got] two wins after that.
"We've started well with the right ideas and the right game plans for each game. The lads on the squad have helped out and it's all come together nicely."
Hart then revealed that should penalties be needed to decide the showdown with Italy, he would not shy away from taking one.
"If I was asked to take a pen i'd put my name down and back myself - why not? - but hopefully it won't come to that. I do like to take penalties.
"I do my research and know where all the italians put their pens, but anyone can do that if they go on youtube. I research before the game, but i like to take it in the moment."
England face Italy on Sunday evening.
