September clash at home to Kosovo will not take place at Wembley.

England will play their first competitive home fixture away from Wembley for the first time in nearly 13 years after the Football Association announced the Euro 2020 qualifier against Kosovo will be hosted elsewhere.

The Group A clash is scheduled for Tuesday, September 10, with the new venue to be confirmed by the FA at a later date.

The Three Lions have started to take games on the road again, playing a World Cup warm-up game against Costa Rica at Elland Road last summer before facing Switzerland in a friendly at the King Power Stadium in September.

But the game against Kosovo, the maiden meeting of the two nations, will be the first competitive game away from Wembley since a goalless Euro 2008 qualifying draw with Macedonia was staged at Old Trafford on October 7, 2006.

No competitive senior games have been played away from Wembley since it was reopened in 2007.

Gareth Southgate's side start their quest to qualify for Euro 2020 on March 22 at home to the Czech Republic before a trip to Montenegro three days later.

For the finals, Wembley will host three group-stage matches and a round-of-16 fixture, as well as both semi-finals and the final of Euro 2020.
