Joe Hart hopes for important England role

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has said that he is hoping to be an important player for England at Euro 2012.

Hart, who did not appear at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, insists that he has not even thought about his last international tournament with the Three Lions ahead of their opening match against Group D opponents France.

"The past is the past, there's no point in thinking about that," he told Absolute Radio.

"I'm going into this one, hopefully starting in a big game and hopefully being an important player for my country."

England take on France in Donetsk on Monday afternoon.
