England’s Jordan Nobbs could miss World Cup after suffering knee ligament injury

Jordan Nobbs is in danger of missing next summer’s World Cup after sustaining a serious knee injury.

Arsenal announced on Monday that the England playmaker suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament injury during Sunday’s clash with Everton.

“Everyone at the club wishes Jordan a speedy recovery and will give their full support in her journey back to full fitness,” a statement read.

Such injuries can often take up to nine months to heal, meaning the 25-year-old could struggle to be fit enough to make Phil Neville’s squad for the tournament in France.

Nobbs has won 53 caps for the Lionesses, scoring seven goals.
