John Stones targets Under-21 Euro 2015 success with England

John Stones is confident that England Under-21s can win Euro 2015 this summer, by using previous disappointment to their advantage.

Everton defender John Stones has insisted that England Under-21s will use previous disappointment to spur them on at this summer's European Championship.

The Young Lions, who last won the tournament back in 1984, comfortably advanced to the finals after dropping just two points in qualifying.

England are now aiming to improve on their last couple of performances at the Euros, which saw them fail to get beyond the group stage on both occasions.

"With the players we have it is going to be an exciting tournament and we will go into it looking to win it," the Daily Mail quotes Stones as saying.

"Without getting ahead of ourselves we have to be positive and do that for the nation. There has been a lot of disappointment in recent years of this competition and hopefully we can rectify it this year."

Stones was named as Everton Supporters' Player of the Year earlier this week.
