El Salvador 0-2 Spain - as it happened

Saturday's international friendly in Maryland pitted El Salvador against European and world champions Spain.

Spain had a golden chance to take the lead inside four minutes, but Cesc Fabregas fired a penalty over the crossbar.

La Roja had the lead on the hour mark, however, when David Villa turned home from close range.

Vicente del Bosque's side had opportunities to extend their lead in the latter stages and the second came after 88 minutes when Villa completed his brace.

Read how it all unfolded in Sports Mole's minute-by-minute live commentary of the action below.

77 minNot too much to report in terms of attacking football in the last couple of minutes, with the changes harming the tempo of the match, which is not much of a surprise.
