Southampton's Billy Sharp bid accepted

Doncaster Rovers have accepted a bid from fellow Championship side for striker Billy Sharp.

Reports earlier this afternoon had claimed that the 25-year-old was on the South Coast undergoing a medical.

Rovers boss Dean Saunders has now confirmed that the speculation is true.

"We have accepted a deal for Billy from Southampton and he is having a medical now," Saunders told a press conference.

Southampton failed with a bid to sign Sharp during the summer.
