Billy Sharp having Southampton medical

Doncaster Rovers striker Billy Sharp is undergoing a medical with Southampton ahead of a move to St Mary's, according to Sky Sports News.

Sharp appeared to be willing to remain with Rovers until the end of the season following his decision to turn down Leicester City earlier this month.

However, it now appears that Rovers could be about to lose their goalscorer after all.

Southampton were close to signing the 25-year-old during the summer but saw the deal fall through because a transfer fee couldn't be agreed with Doncaster.
