Frank Lampard: 'Derby County have no worries regarding FFP'

Manager Frank Lampard says that Derby County have no concerns regarding meeting FFP regulations, despite their efforts in the transfer market this summer.

Manager Frank Lampard has said that Derby County have not worked outside of their boundaries during the summer transfer window.

The Rams' hierarchy have openly acknowledged that cutbacks would have to be made this summer, but the East Midlands outfit have still brought in nine new players.

However, Lampard has played down concerns regarding any future punishment, saying that the sale of Matej Vydra has proven crucial to meeting FFP regulations.

At a press conference, Lampard told reporters: "My job is to put forward my idea for this club and then with Mel Morris and Stephen Pearce here, their job is to say 'these are the rules we have to work with, as does everyone else in the Championship'.

"So that's another thing. We haven't gone beyond that, we can't do, so what we've done is we've lost Vydra for a fair amount of money, and his 22 goals we've lost, which need to be replaced through the team, which I think we've tried to do."

Lampard also indicated on Friday that players could be allowed to leave on loan before the end of August.
