Nigel Clough happy with Derby squad

Derby County manager Nigel Clough has described the current squad as his strongest yet since arriving at the club.

The Rams have already signed Lee Grant, Craig Forsyth, Chris Martin and Johnny Russell this summer, while free agent John Eustace could soon arrive at Pride Park.

"We are happy with the numbers and the depth and it will depend on the outs if we are to bring any more players in, but there is no point bringing anyone in if they are not going to improve us," Clough told the Derby Telegraph.

"Is it our strongest squad yet? Yes, I think so."

Derby get their Championship campaign off the mark at home to Blackburn Rovers on August 4.
