Nathan Tyson injury doubt for Derby league opener

Nathan Tyson is an injury doubt ahead of Derby County's Championship opener with Birmingham City on Saturday.

The 29-year-old, who injured his groin in his side's 2-0 pre-season win over Aston Villa yesterday (August 3), will be assessed before the weekend's clash with the Blues.

"Nathan looked really sharp and his pace gave Villa quite few problems, so we're understandably frustrated," coach Andy Garner told the club's official website.

"He was gutted when he came off as well and we just hope it isn't too bad."

Tyson signed from East Midlands rivals Nottingham Forest on Monday, June 13.
