Saturday's Championship predictions including Huddersfield vs. Bournemouth

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Championship fixtures, including Huddersfield vs. Bournemouth.

Derby vs. Coventry (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Derby County play host to Coventry City on Saturday afternoon knowing that they have realistically reached a point where only wins will do if they are to remain in the Championship.

At a time when the Rams sit six points adrift of safety, Coventry are down in 11th position after losing three of their last four league matches.

We say: Derby County 1-2 Coventry City

With a draw doing neither side any good, we expect both clubs to push hard for all three points at the weekend. However, with the home side under the greater pressure, that may benefit Coventry, who we are backing to claim a late win at Pride Park.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Sheff Utd vs. Barnsley (Saturday, 12.30pm)

South Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United and Barnsley meet at Bramall Lane on Saturday afternoon, with the two clubs chasing very different goals in the Championship.

The Blades have playoff hopes and are currently one point behind the top six in ninth place, while the Tykes are 22nd and chasing safety.

We say: Sheffield United 2-1 Barnsley

Sheffield United would have been heavy favourites for this game a couple of weeks ago, but their stuttering form and injury crisis combined with Barnsley's growing confidence makes this game slightly harder to predict. The Blades should still just about edge it, but do not be surprised to see the Tykes take a point.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Bristol City vs. West Brom (Saturday, 3.00pm)

West Bromwich Albion square off against Bristol City on Saturday afternoon knowing that victory will keep them very much in the Championship playoff race.

At a time when the Baggies sit down in 12th position, six points adrift of their target, Bristol City are in 18th spot after a prolonged run of inconsistency.

We say: Bristol City 1-2 West Bromwich Albion

For all of their inconsistency, Bristol City have shown this season that they are capable of posting surprise wins every so often. However, we do not feel that will be the case at the weekend, with West Brom well set to collect another hard-fought three points away from home.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Huddersfield vs. Bournemouth (Saturday, 3.00pm)

A crunch clash in the Championship promotion race takes place on Saturday afternoon as Huddersfield Town host Bournemouth.

The Terriers are currently third in the table and just three points behind the Cherries in second. Meanwhile, the South coast side trail leaders Fulham by 11 points.

We say: Huddersfield Town 0-0 Bournemouth

With plenty at stake and both teams faltering over the last 10 days, this could be a nervy and perhaps low-scoring affair. We cannot separate the teams and are predicting a draw, which Bournemouth are likely to be much happier with than Huddersfield.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Hull City vs. Luton (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Luton Town travel to Hull City on Saturday with the hope of heading into the international break still in the Championship playoffs.

The Hatters are currently fifth in the table and one point ahead of seventh place, while the Tigers sit in 19th.

We say: Hull City 0-2 Luton Town

Despite Hull's win in midweek, their inconsistency and poor home form does not give much encouragement ahead of the visit of a confident Luton side. We think the Hatters will continue their playoff charge with a victory at the MKM Stadium.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Reading vs. Blackburn (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Blackburn Rovers make the trip to the Madejski Stadium aware that it will likely take three points to remain in fourth position in the Championship standings.

Meanwhile, Reading head into Saturday's fixture on the back of four games without success, leaving the Royals just two points above the relegation zone.

We say: Reading 1-2 Blackburn Rovers

With home advantage in their favour, Reading will back themselves to get at least a point on the board against their inconsistent opponents. However, we feel that Blackburn's win in midweek will do them the world of good, leading us to predict a narrow victory for the visitors.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Stoke vs. Millwall (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Millwall manager Gary Rowett on March 8, 2022© Reuters

Millwall make the trip to the bet365 Stadium to face Stoke City on Saturday afternoon looking to extend their unbeaten Championship streak to nine matches.

At a time when the Lions sit just two points adrift of the playoffs, Stoke are down in 16th position with manager Michael O'Neill under pressure to keep his job at the Potters.

We say: Stoke City 1-2 Millwall

With O'Neill potentially being at the point of no return, he will surely instruct his side to attack their opponents on Saturday. Nevertheless, that will not necessarily trouble a well-drilled Millwall side, and we are backing the visitors to fight their way to a narrow win.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Swansea vs. Birmingham (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Swansea City manager Russell Martin celebrates after the match on February 28, 2022© Reuters

Swansea City and Birmingham City meet this weekend as disappointing campaigns for both clubs begin to peter out.

The Swans – beaten playoff finalists last season – are currently 15th in the Championship table, six points ahead of the Blues in 20th who are set for a sixth consecutive bottom-half finish.

We say: Swansea City 1-0 Birmingham City

Neither of these two sides have much to play for, so this could end up being somewhat of a drab encounter. Swansea appear to be in a slightly better place going forward, so we think that the Welsh side will just sneak a victory.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.
