Cureton: 'No retirement plans'

Dagenham & Redbridge striker Jamie Cureton has revealed that he does not want to retire at the end of the season.

There had been suggestions that this campaign would be the 39-year-old's last in professional football.

However, having scored 18 goals for the Daggers this term, the centre-forward is hopeful that he can extend his stay at Victoria Road.

"The season has gone very well. I'm more than happy to give it another shot next year if someone will have me," he told BBC Sport.

"I've thoroughly enjoyed working under Wayne Burnett and playing for Dagenham. Hopefully something can be sorted out."

The experienced frontman netted a hat-trick during Dagenham's 4-0 win over AFC Wimbledon yesterday afternoon.
