Palace 'eyeing Reece James as Wan-Bissaka replacement'

Palace 'eyeing Reece James transfer'

Crystal Palace have reportedly identified Chelsea youngster Reece James as their first-choice option to replace Aaron Wan-Bissaka this summer.

The South London side are on the lookout for a right-back after Wan-Bissaka completed a £50m transfer to Manchester United last week.

James, who came through Chelsea's academy, impressed on loan at Wigan Athletic during the 2018-19 campaign, making 45 appearances in the Championship.

According to The Sun, Palace are prepared to wait for James, with the defender unable to leave Stamford Bridge until Chelsea's transfer ban - in effect until next summer - is withdrawn by FIFA.

The Eagles would be willing to sign James on loan or as a permanent transfer over the next two transfer windows.

Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson has been linked as another potential target at right-back for Palace, who are yet to spend any money in this transfer window.
