Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira urges Wilfried Zaha to showcase more consistency as he prepares to return to the Eagles following the Africa Cup Of Nations.

Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira has urged Wilfried Zaha to showcase more consistency.

The winger has made 17 appearances in the Premier League this season, scoring five goals and picking up one assist within that period so far, but his boss wants to see more.

Zaha has been away recently with the Africa Cup of Nations, representing Ivory Coast, who were knocked out in the round of 16, but he is now back in England as an option for the Eagles.

"I think with his potential he can do more. I am really demanding on him because of his ability, in possession and out of possession. I think he is a player that can deliver and he needs to be more consistent," Vieira told the press.

"He is an important player for the team and for the squad. Obviously, we are a stronger team when he is on the field and plays at the level we all know he can do."

Crystal Palace will face Norwich City today in their first Premier League game since the winter break.
