Alan Pardew suggests Wilfried Zaha has been "damaged" by failed Man United spell

Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew urges Wilfried Zaha to "move on" from his failed Manchester United spell.

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has expressed his belief that Wilfried Zaha's failed move to Manchester United came "too early" in the player's career.

The 22-year-old scored in the Eagles' 3-1 victory over Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, but Pardew believes that he needs to get over the 'damage' caused by his United switch.

Zaha was Sir Alex Ferguson's final signing at Old Trafford back in 2013, but the winger struggled for first-team action and was shipped out on loan twice before returning to Selhurst Park.

"I don't see him smiling enough and secondly, he takes everything like a massive disappointment," The Express quotes Pardew as saying. "Now that's a player who has been damaged.

"The Man United thing came too early for a young player who, let's be honest, didn't get enough of an opportunity there. He needs to get rid of it now and move on and build his career again."

Palace are currently 12th in the Premier League table.
