Vrsaljko ruled out of World Cup semi-final?

Croatia defender Sime Vrsaljko has reportedly been ruled out of his side's World Cup semi-final against England through injury.

The Atletico Madrid full-back limped off during Saturday's penalty-shootout victory over Russia and remains a major doubt with a knee problem.

The Mirror reports that Croatia boss Zlatko Dalic is already planning to be without Vrsaljko for Wednesday's match in Moscow as his side bid to reach the World Cup final for the first time ever.

Dalic has been using centre-back Domagoj Vida at right-back in place of Vrsaljko during recent training sessions, with former Tottenham Hotspur defender Vedran Corluka filling in in the middle.

Corluka now plays for Lokomotiv Moscow and could win his 103rd cap in the city in which he plies his trade at club level.

The 32-year-old would win his 103rd cap should he be drafted in, although there are concerns over how he would handle the pace of Raheem Sterling.
