Everton striker Nikica Jelavic believes that Croatia can be a threat in the European Championships.

Everton frontman Nikica Jelavic believes that Croatia are good enough to get far in the European Championships starting on Friday.

The 26-year-old, who moved from Rangers to Goodison Park in January, is hopeful that his form for Everton, which included 11 goals, will carry into the elite tournament.

"I am so happy to go, it is my first big tournament," said Jelavic. "We have a good team and we can do well."

Croatia are competing in Group C, where they will come up against the Republic of Ireland, Italy and reigning champions Spain.
