Coventry's Adam Armstrong leads Player of the Month nominations

Armstrong leads nominations for monthly award

Coventry City striker Adam Armstrong is one of four League One stars to be shortlisted for the Football League's Player of the Month award for October.

The 18-year-old impressed in games against Shrewsbury Town and Peterborough United as he managed to score three goals across the two fixtures.

Bradford City defender Reece Burke, who is on loan at Valley Parade from West Ham United, is also a contender as the team conceded just three goals in five games during October.

Aiden O'Brien has shown his versatility for Millwall by switching between attack and the wing to score three goals and earning himself a nomination for Player of the Month.

Peterborough midfielder Jon Taylor wraps up the shortlist after contributing to three of the Posh's 16 goals in six games.

The winner will be announced on Friday.
