Video: Chile's Gonzalo Jara sticks finger up Edinson Cavani's backside

Jara sticks finger up Cavani's backside

Chile's Gonzalo Jara has been accused of trying to provoke Uruguay forward Edinson Cavani by inserting his finger up the player's backside during last night's Copa America quarter-final.

The Paris Saint-Germain striker was sent off for a second yellow card after clashing with the defender, despite little contact being made.

Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez believes that Jara intentionally tried to get Cavani into trouble during the match, which ended in a 1-0 victory for Chile.

"For the expulsion of Cavani, you can see what happened and what the challenge was," Tabarez told reporters. "I refer you to the television and photos of it, it is all there."

Video footage has now appeared of the incident involving the defender, who was punched by Luis Suarez in 2013 after he reportedly grabbed the striker's genitals.
