Marcos Senna backs Diego Costa to shine

Former Spain international Marcos Senna backs Atletico Madrid forward Diego Costa to thrive at the World Cup this summer.

Former Spain international Marcos Senna has backed Atletico Madrid forward Diego Costa to thrive at the World Cup this summer.

Like Senna, Costa was born in Brazil, but chose to officially represent La Roja after gaining citizenship towards the end of 2013.

"Diego has such a great personality that will make him stronger, he won't be intimidated by the whistles from the fans, just the opposite," he told Marca.

"He's a star. I've been cheering him on and hoping everything goes well with the Spanish national team as it did for him with Atletico."

Costa is reportedly on the verge of signing for Chelsea.
