Bayer Leverkusen's director reveals that Andre Schurrle could yet leave the club.

Bayer Leverkusen director Wolfgang Holzhauser has revealed that Andre Schurrle could yet move to Chelsea.

The Premier League club are believed to have had a recent bid of around £16m turned down by the Bundesliga side.

However, Holzhauser is refusing to shut the door permanently on a possible switch.

"I am not keen on ruling anything out at any point in time, but personally I have laid this topic to full rest last weekend," he told Rheinische Post.

"Of course, we have seriously considered the offer. We did. Still we came to the conclusion we would be unable to sign an adequate and affordable replacement for Andre Schurrle."

Schurrle, who has four years left on his current contract, joined Leverkusen from Mainz in 2011.
