Alvaro Morata 'to have Atletico Madrid medical on Sunday'

Alvaro Morata will reportedly undergo a medical with Atletico Madrid on Sunday as the Spain international nears a move to the Spanish giants from Chelsea.

Morata has managed 24 goals in 72 appearances for Chelsea since arriving from Real Madrid in 2017.

The 26-year-old has struggled to settle at Stamford Bridge, and Chelsea have recently signed Gonzalo Higuain on loan from Juventus to lead their line for the rest of the season.

Morata will reportedly join Atletico on an 18-month loan, although the La Liga outfit have the option to make it permanent at the end of the season.

According to AS, Morata arrived in Spain on Saturday night and the striker will undergo a medical on Sunday ahead of signing for Diego Simeone's side.

Morata scored 31 times in 95 appearances during his time with Real Madrid.
