Chelsea forward Daniel Sturridge could reportedly make a return to Manchester City in the summer after dropping down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

Manchester City are reportedly pondering a summer move for former forward and current Chelsea player Daniel Sturridge.

The 22-year-old, who left the North West for Stamford Bridge three years ago, has fallen out of favour under interim coach Roberto Di Matteo, playing just two full games since the 41-year-old took over from axed Andre Villas-Boas.

It is understood that City boss Roberto Mancini has three players in mind on his transfer wishlist, with Sturridge being of high priority, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Reports have suggested that the Premier League title challengers could offload the likes of Adam Johnson, Carlos Tevez, Edin Dzeko and Mario Balotelli, which would free up space for a new forward.

It is thought that Sturridge originally left City because they refused to meet his wage demands.
