Chelsea transfer news: Joao Felix exit to Al-Nassr confirmed in further financial boost for Premier League giants

Chelsea have confirmed that they have sold Joao Felix to Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr.

After his failed loan stint at AC Milan, the Portugal international has been back at the West Londoners having missed out on their Club World Cup triumph.

A reintegration into Enzo Maresca's squad was always out of the question and it initially emerged that Benfica were attempting to secure a reunion with a player who has previously represented their academy and first team.

Instead, it became apparent last week that Al-Nassr were on the brink of signing 25-year-old, his compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo having allegedly played his part in convincing the versatile attacker to make the switch to the Middle East.

Over the past 48 hours, Felix has been caught on video completing the formalities ahead of a transfer, while it was reported that he had already featured in an Al-Nassr training session.

Chelsea confirm Joao Felix exit

On Tuesday afternoon, Chelsea finally announced that they had parted ways with Felix on a permanent basis.

The confirmation brings to an end Felix's second stint at Stamford Bridge, where he contributed seven goals and two assists from 20 appearances.

Although a transfer fee has not been revealed, Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Al-Nassr are paying a fixed fee of €30m (£25.3m) and a potential €20m (£16.9m) in performance-related add-ons.

Chelsea generating more income and getting a big earner off the wage bill represents a major boost ahead of attempting to finalise deals for Ajax defender Jorrel Hato and RB Leipzig playmaker Xavi Simons.

How much money have Chelsea raised in transfer fees this summer?

Felix becomes the latest high-profile name to leave Chelsea, following the likes of Kepa Arrizabalaga, Djordje Petrovic, Bashir Humphreys, Mathis Amougou and Noni Madueke.

Officially, a total of £88.5m had been generated before Felix's sale, taking Chelsea up to somewhere in the region of £113m.

That is not including the undisclosed transfer fee from Amougou's sale to Strasbourg, which is plausibly likely to be a similar fee to the £12m that Chelsea paid in February.

Undisclosed fees were also registered for the sales of Marcus Bettinelli, Zak Sturge and Harry Rodda, realistically taking Chelsea to somewhere between £125m to £130m in money generated.
