Jacob Mellis 'agrees Barnsley move'

Former Chelsea midfielder Jacob Mellis has reportedly agreed a two-year deal to join Barnsley.

The 21-year-old, who was sacked by the Blues in March after setting off a smoke grenade at the club's training ground, played 15 times for the Tykes in a loan spell during the 2010-11 season.

BBC Sport understands that Mellis will officially sign for the Championship side later this week.

Mellis made one senior appearance during his time at Stamford Bridge, coming on as an 89th-minute substitute in the 2-1 Champions League victory over Zilina in November 2010.
