As many as four clubs are reportedly bidding to secure the services of Chelsea forward Timo Werner this summer.

Chelsea forward Timo Werner has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for as many as four clubs this summer.

During his first two years at Stamford Bridge, Werner has contributed 23 goals and 21 assists from his 89 appearances in all competitions.

The Germany international also played a pivotal role in Chelsea's Champions League triumph during 2020-21, but the 26-year-old has since fallen out of favour with Thomas Tuchel.

Having seen his game time restricted during the last campaign, Werner acknowledged that he was open to departing Chelsea ahead of the World Cup at the end of the year.

In response, Tuchel has challenged the versatile attacker to earn his opportunities in the Chelsea attack, calling on the player to "show quality".

However, at a time when significant upheaval could take place at Chelsea over the next five weeks, it appears that Werner may be one of several players to move elsewhere.

According to transfer expert Ekrem Konur, four high-profile clubs are ready to try to negotiate a deal with Chelsea.

Juventus are allegedly one of the teams who will attempt to agree a season-long loan deal with the option of buying Werner next summer.

Borussia Dortmund, RB Leizpig and Newcastle United are also credited with an interest in the player, the assumption being that they will also show preference to a temporary agreement.

Dortmund are currently in the market for a replacement for Sebastien Haller, who has been ruled out indefinitely due to a testicular tumour.

Meanwhile, Leipzig are interested in a reunion with a player who they sold for a fee in the region of £47.5m in 2020, Werner having previously scored 95 goals during a four-year stint with the club.

Newcastle realistically represent Werner's best alternative if he wants to remain in the Premier League, Eddie Howe yet to make any attack-minded additions in the transfer market.

With Werner still having three years left on his contract, Chelsea will not be in any rush to cash in on the player for a cut-price fee.
