Chelsea could reportedly rekindle their interest in Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar, who has an uncertain future at the Parc des Princes.

Chelsea are reportedly set to rekindle their interest in Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar in the summer transfer window.

Neymar has spent the last six years in the French capital after completing a world-record £198m move from Barcelona in 2017.

During his time with PSG, the Brazilian has scored 118 goals and provided 77 assists in 173 appearances across all competitions.

Neymar has a contract until June 2025 with an option for a further year, but there is speculation that PSG could look to offload him this summer.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is adopting a new transfer strategy as he looks to place a greater emphasis on signing France's best young prospects rather than bringing players in due to their name and status.

The change in approach has brought the futures of Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Neymar into question ahead of the 2023-24 season.

Mbappe is likely to remain at the Parc des Princes, but PSG are no longer prioritising a new contract for Messi, who is set to leave the club on a free transfer when his contract expires in June.

Neymar, meanwhile, has struggled with injuries this season and at the age of 31, the upcoming summer transfer window may present one final chance to command a significant fee for the Brazil international.

According to The Mirror, Chelsea could revive their interest in Neymar after enquiring about his availability earlier this year.

Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly allegedly held a meeting with the PSG president in February to discuss a potential transfer.

The Blues have spent over £600m in the last two transfer windows, and they are expected to offload players to help meet Financial Fair Play regulations.

However, they are still looking to make signings in the summer, with a new forward believed to be one of their main priorities.

Should they decide to pursue a deal for Neymar, they could face competition from an unnamed Premier League club, who are said to be showing an interest.

Neymar is currently sidelined after picking up a season-ending ankle injury in February, but he still managed to register 18 goals and 17 assists in 29 competitive appearances during the 2022-23 campaign.
