Chelsea 'ready to axe Alvaro Morata'

Chelsea have reportedly lost patience with Alvaro Morata and will now move for a new striker at the start of 2019.

Morata joined Chelsea from Real Madrid in the summer of 2017, with the Blues paying £65m for the Spaniard.

The centre-forward has managed just 18 goals in 59 appearances for the Premier League outfit, however, while his record this season stands at just three goals in 11 games in all competitions.

According to The Sun, Chelsea have now lost patience with the 25-year-old, and are now ready to axe the striker in the January transfer window.

Earlier this month, it was claimed that Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri wants to bring Genoa's in-form centre-forward Krzysztof Piatek to Stamford Bridge as a replacement for Morata.

Piatek, 23, moved to Genoa from Cracovia ahead of the 2018-19 campaign and has managed 13 goals in eight appearances in all competitions this term.
