Chelsea reportedly identify Brighton & Hove Albion centre-back Adam Webster as a possible transfer target for the summer window.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has reportedly identified Brighton & Hove Albion defender Adam Webster as a possible transfer target.

The Blues have managed to tie Thiago Silva down to a short-term contract extension but are at risk of losing Antonio Rudiger, Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen at the end of the season.

Chelsea are still hopeful of tying the trio down to new deals at Stamford Bridge, but the European champions are understandably being linked with a host of defensive names for the summer window.

Matthijs de Ligt and Jules Kounde have been mentioned as possible targets, and The Mirror now claims that Brighton's Webster is a candidate to move to the capital ahead of the 2022-23 season.

The 6ft 3in centre-back has only started 13 Premier League games this season due to injury but has helped the Seagulls keep five clean sheets, as well as scoring two goals in his last three games against Chelsea and Watford.

Newcastle United have also been linked with a move for Webster, whose contract with Brighton does not expire until the summer of 2026.
