Chelsea offer Juan Mata or David Luiz in bid for Manchester United's Wayne Rooney?

Chelsea have reportedly lodged an offer to Manchester United for striker Wayne Rooney, including either Juan Mata or David Luiz as part of a deal.

The West London outfit are said to be keen on snatching the unsettled striker away from Old Trafford following reports that he is 'angry and confused' by David Moyes's comments that he is regarded as a back-up striker.

It is understood that Chelsea's offer of £10m plus either Mata or Luiz has been rejected by the Premier League champions, who have reiterated that Rooney is not for sale, according to the Daily Mail.

Arsenal are also thought to be keeping tabs on Rooney's situation at Old Trafford.
