Chelsea lining up long-term Tomori deal?

Chelsea are reportedly keen to secure the long-term future of academy graduate Fikayo Tomori.

Despite having initially been pencilled in to go out on loan this season, Tomori remained at Stamford Bridge as a result of David Luiz's switch to Arsenal, and the defender has only benefited from the departure of the Brazilian.

After strong performances against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Valencia and Liverpool, the 21-year-old's progress has been talked up by manager Frank Lampard.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira, Chelsea are ready to reward the versatile youngster with a contract until the end of the 2023-24 campaign.

While Tomori still has just under two years left on his current deal, the decision from Chelsea is a reflection of the England Under-21's form since being given his opportunity in the first team.
