Everton reportedly reject a late deadline-day approach from Chelsea for attacker Anthony Gordon, who is set to stay at Goodison Park past 11pm.

Chelsea have reportedly failed with a late attempt to prise Anthony Gordon away from Everton on transfer deadline day.

The Blues have been strongly linked with a move for the 21-year-old over the past few weeks, but Everton have refused to budge on their £60m valuation.

Chelsea are set to complete a move for Barcelona's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang before the 11pm deadline, but Thomas Tuchel supposedly still wanted to conclude a deal for Gordon.

According to Mirror journalist David Maddock, Chelsea approached Everton with a late offer for the England Under-21 international, but the Toffees rebuffed the efforts of Frank Lampard's former club.

Gordon is not due to become a free agent until the end of the 2024-25 season, and the former Liverpool youngster is now set to stay at Goodison Park for the next few months at least.

The Englishman already has two goals to his name from five Premier League matches this season, taking his tally at senior level to six strikes and eight assists from 65 Everton games.
