Chelsea confirm Marco Amelia move on deal until end of season

Chelsea complete the signing of free agent keeper Marco Amelia on a deal until the end of the season following Thibaut Courtois's injury.

Chelsea have confirmed that they have completed the signing of free agent keeper Marco Amelia.

The 33-year-old was available on a free transfer after being released by Perugia at the end of last season.

The Blues have confirmed the move for the veteran stopper on a one-year deal to serve as backup to Asmir Begovic following Thibaut Courtois's early-season injury, which has ruled him out of action until December.

Amelia has been capped by Italy nine times in his career.
