Rafael Benitez: 'Ashley Cole agreement done'

Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez has confirmed that Ashley Cole has agreed a contract extension with the club.

It was revealed on Saturday night that the 32-year-old would be staying at Stamford Bridge amid rumours of a move when his current deal expires in the summer.

"Now the club has an agreement with the player, [I'm] really pleased," Benitez told Sky Sports News. "The paperwork has to be done, but the agreement is done."

Benitez was speaking following Chelsea's 2-1 win over Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday.
